A General Grant helped the Roughlie community centre purchase crockery for the community centre. These items will allow members and volunteers to cater for events and workshops to help landholders, graziers and farmers with industry related challenges in remote areas of Queensland.
The Comunity Centre is used by families and landholders when they to come together to socialize and enjoy a meal together in the company of friends. The centre helps to remove the barriers of isolation and improve mental wellbeing through social inclusion.
The space also provides a sustainable income to the community through fundraising and catering for workshops and informations days presented by various industry related service providers.
We acknowledge and extend our respect and appreciation to the Arrente People, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are located in Alice Springs, and to the Traditional Custodians across the lands on which our recipients live and work. We pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging.
