Applications for general grants are considered four times a year. Applications are to be received by the Executive Officer by the 15th of February, May, August and November each year. The Trust’s decision will be notified to applicants by the end of March, June, September and December each year. Applicants who may require a faster turnaround prior to the grant deadlines are encouraged to contact the Executive Officer.

General grants can be used to fund a diverse range of activities. Specific projects, travel costs, education and skill building, technology (communications), community experiences, and a range of other options that align with the vision of the Trust.
General Grants aim to assist rural and remote people to overcome challenges caused by remoteness.
Our grants enable successful applicants to
1. access opportunities for increased education, health or wellbeing (and/or)
2. improve social and economic outcomes by expanding skills, increasing remote livability and reducing isolation.

Please note that typically, general living expenses, university fees and operational program costs like wages are not funded by general grants.
