My name is Annabelle Coppin, and with my family I am the owner & manager of Yarrie Station in the East Pilbara Western Australia.
In 2008 I was the recipient of a grant from the Connellan Airways Trust in support of my Nuffield Scholarship. At the time I sought to step off the family property and travel abroad to personally investigate the future our family business and livelihood.
The knowledge and skills that came of this experience were invaluable as with a variety of food producers from Australia, we participated in a diverse range of farm tours across the globe. That same year I was nominated for WA Young Australian of the year.
I have always been passionate about our outback, people, cattle, flying and country.
Over the years I have built on this passion and hope to continue with this for many more.
The Connellan Airways Trust grant gave me the confidence and support to get out and see the world and bring my knowledge back to help the future of our outback and community. I will always feel privileged to be a recipient of this special trust and thank them for their support.
We acknowledge and extend our respect and appreciation to the Arrente People, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are located in Alice Springs, and to the Traditional Custodians across the lands on which our recipients live and work. We pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging.
