A once in a lifetime skills expanding trip!
Thirteen-year-old Clay from Charleville was among ten exceptional young individuals selected from across Queensland to represent the Australian High School Rodeo Association in New Zealand for the Under-15 Steer Ride. During their trip, they competed in four rodeos around the South Island and participated in a rodeo school alongside the New Zealand Rodeo team.
Clay distinguished himself by placing in three of the events and ultimately winning the final rodeo of the series, contributing significantly to his team's victory in the 2024 series. This experience provided a remarkable opportunity for Clay, allowing him to explore New Zealand, build lasting relationships, and enhance his skills.
We are deeply grateful to the Connellan Airways Trust for supporting Clay in pursuing his rodeo aspirations. Their grant helped cover Clay's airfare and accommodation expenses, making this unforgettable experience possible.
