Our Recipients

Destiny Holley, Charlevillve QLD

 CQU / CAT Scholarship

First of all, thank you for the opportunity to accept the Connellan Airways Trust Scholarship. My name is Destiny Holley, and I am 18 years old born and raised in Charleville Queensland. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and hope to one day be able to teach in my local school and help the students and families also living in the outback. I currently work as a teacher aide at the local primary school that I also once attended and graduated as the Dux of the school. This also happens to be the school I eventually hope to teach at once graduated. I also work at the afterschool care in the afternoons to help save up and pay for my university upfront. This scholarship is an amazing opportunity to pay for my next two terms of university as well as all of the resources and textbooks needed to complete those units. I am extremely grateful to be able to accept this scholarship and continue my studies. This scholarship will benefit me tremendously as I also have to travel away to complete my placement for this degree. I have previously travelled to Rockhampton and Mitchell for placements and am hoping to be able to go to St George and Longreach for future placements to get a taste of other outback schools and their community. It is a pleasure to live in the outback of Australia and I am

thankful that organisations like you reach out to help our community.
