My name is Tayla Bishop, and I was one of the students chosen for the Connellan Airways Trust Scholarship.
I live in rural WA the Pilbara, with my family. I have two small children and currently work as an Enrolled Nurse but currently upskilling to my bachelors, registered nurse. In the town I currently work in nurses are sometimes all the community has if there is no doctor on shift. I want to be able to upskill to better myself and better the help my
community receives.
This scholarship has allowed me to plan childcare and accommodation when I need to travel for placements, it has taken the pressure off me having to work whilst on placement to help support my children.
I wanted to express my appreciation for being chosen for this scholarship, I am very grateful for the help I have received.
It has and will help me complete my goals.
We acknowledge and extend our respect and appreciation to the Arrente People, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are located in Alice Springs, and to the Traditional Custodians across the lands on which our recipients live and work. We pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging.
