31 people from across reginal and remote Central Australia completed first aid training last week. First aid is a vital skill and even more essential for these participants given they live 100s of kilometers away from medial services and often in very isolated communities and stations that are only accessible via rough dirt roads. These families are aware this training was made possible thanks to Connellan funding and are so very appreciated of their generosity.
One participant Danyelle Haigh is so very grateful for the new skills she learnt and they were put to the test the following week when her 2 year old son experienced breathing difficulties.
Participants reported feeling more confident and equipped to respond when an incident occurs and this is a huge reassurance when you have small children at home and know that medical help is hours away.
We acknowledge and extend our respect and appreciation to the Arrente People, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are located in Alice Springs, and to the Traditional Custodians across the lands on which our recipients live and work. We pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging.
