"Having recently been appointed a Director on the Board of the RFDS Central Operations I sought to increase my knowledge
of Governance in the Not for Profit Sector.
I was able to complete courses with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
The courses were very different from each other, but both have given me a clearer awareness of my role on the Board and
the importance of good governance in both a legal and moral sense.
My confidence has grown along with my role in the organisation. I am feeling settled and more assured of myself with each meeting and feel I have a great deal to offer the organisation. I have always had the heart
for the RFDS and with the assistance of the Connellan Airways Trust I now have the understanding of a Boards duties and how critical good governance is to the performance of an organisation"
