Hugh - Thackaringa Station
Roger Connellan Award
Hugh was the 2018 Roger Connellan Award recipient. Whilst he was granted assistance for the costs associated with endorsements for mustering, Hugh had a long term plan of being able to teach others how to be better pilots in the bush, and also completed his instructor rating. Now he is able to offer bush pilots additional training for real environments on stations, piloting on stations with safety and skill being the priority.
"With the grant I received, I was able to complete my CASA instructor exam, GA Low Level and mustering training approval, RAAus Instructor rating which led to RAAaus Low Level and mustering training approval.
Without the help of the grant, I would never have been able to achieve this. I always wanted to do something like this however financially it was never going to happen. I have now been able to complete all of this which is way more than I ever thought I was capable of doing.
